The Striped Firetail (Telebasis filiola) is a tropical damselfly of Mexico. I am not certain of its full geographic range at this time. The top 6 shots shown on this page (4 males and 2 females) were taken in southern Tamaulipas, Mexico, in May, 2007, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender. My thanks to Dennis Paulson for making an identification of this species from my images. Dennis speculates that this species may show up in south Texas at some time.
