Tiger Salamander (Ambystoma tigrinum) The shots shown here are of the subspecies known as Barred Tiger Salamander (A. m. mavortium). This subspecies ranges through the western two-thirds of Texas north to Nebraska and west to New Mexico. Shown are two adults as well as an adult and immature taken while they were swimming. All images here were taken in June, 2002, in Kenedy Co., Texas, with an EOS 1V and EF 180mm F/3.5 Macro and flash on Fuji Velvia.
