The Turquoise Bluet (Enallagma divagans) is a damselfly of the eastern United States occurring from Maine to Florida and west to Oklahoma and Texas. It prefers slow moving streams as well as ponds and lakes. The male shown in the top 2 shots on the left was along a creek in Jasper Co., Texas, in March, 2008. These 2 shots were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 300mm F/4 l IS lens and 2X extender.

The next three images of Turquoise Bluet were taken in Bastrop State Park, Bastrop Co., Texas, in May, 2008, with the same gear described above. The shot on the left shows a pair in copula while the next two images show individual males.
