The Two-striped Skimmer (Orthetrum caffrum) occurs across South Africa ranging north into central Africa as well. The shots here of a male were taken in the Blyde River Canyon, Mpumalanga Province, South Africa in January, 2006 with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender with a 580 flash.
