The Viceroy (Limenitis archippus) is a common butterfly across most of the United States. The top shot here was taken at Palmetto State Park, Gonzales Co., Texas, in June, 2003, with a Canon EOS 10D and an EF 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS lens and 2X extender. The next two shots were shot with the same equipment in May, 2004, in Austin, Travis Co., Texas.
