The Warthog (Phacochoerus aethiopicus) is an animal of the open woodlands and grasslands of southern Africa. It is a curious looking creature with a massive head with conspicuous tusks. It is often hunted by African Lions. The animal shown here was in Kruger National Park, Mpumalanga Province, South Africa, in January, 2006. The shots were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 500mm F/4 L IS lens.
