The Southern Yellow-billed Hornbill (Tockus leucomelas) is a common resident in southern Africa. They are commonly seen in scrub and dry woodland areas. The shot of the single bird and the group together on a bush were photographed with a Canon EOS 1N & EF 300 mm F2.8L lens and a 2X extender. Normally, I do not generally like bird photos that are back lit, but the one of the birds on the bush with their yellow bills highlighted worked out Okay.
Scrool down for two photos from 2006.

The below two shots were taken in Kruger National Park, South Africa, in January, 2006, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 500mm F/4 L IS lens.
